Ice skating is a great way to stay active, be with friends and have FUN! The Martha's Vineyard Figure Skating Club (MVFSC) skating program follows the curriculum of the “Learn to Skate USA endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey and US SpeedSkating”. Classes offered are in a group setting for all skill levels ages 3.5 through adult.
Whether you have an aspiring figure skater or hockey player, the MVFSC Learn to Skate program is the place to start. It prepares skaters with the basic skating skills to move into the MVFSC club programs and Martha's Vineyard Youth Hockey Program.
Sessions generally run for 5-10 weeks at a time throughtout the arena's calendar year. Classes are held on Satrudays only with 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time. The second to last week of classes, skaters are evaluated and they will receive an evaluation form marking their progress. After they have been evaluated, skaters will be given priority for the next session of classes.
